Database of Architecture and Health Environment.
Planners and users currently lack concrete guidelines and recommendations for action for interrupting the spread of infection in the areas of construction, materials and building services in order to plan the built environment to prevent infection and use it appropriately in acute pandemic situations.
The Institute of Hygiene and Environmental Medicine at Charité Berlin, the Hermann-Rietschel-Institut (HRI) at Technische Universität Berlin and the Institute for Building Materials, Concrete Construction and Fire Protection (iBMB) at Technische Universität Braunschweig are working together on an interdisciplinary basis under the leadership of the Institute of Constructive Design (IKE) at Technische Universität Braunschweig to formulate infection prevention, structural, technical and procedural recommendations that focus in particular on airborne infection risks.
The recommendations are to be bundled in the form of an online knowledge platform, the Database of Architecture and Health Environment, visualized in an appealing way and made publicly accessible.
