Theses & Internship

On this page, students will find comprehensive information and contact details for theses and internships.

Finding a thesis topic

Thank you for your interest in writing your thesis at our institute. From 01.12.2023 we will offer diploma theses via STROD (Student Thesis and Research Opportunities Database) of the TU Berlin. Please search for “Energy, Comfort and Health in Buildings”. The relevant research assistant will then be responsible for the selection process.

General questions and information about dissertations

Who supervises the thesis and is there any collaboration with industry? Our theses are supervised by our research assistants, who are named in the respective calls for proposals and who work on the research projects, sometimes in cooperation with partners in practice.

What is the selection procedure? When you apply for a thesis via the STROD portal, you will be asked to submit certain documents. Based on your qualifications and your degree program, you will enter the selection process. All degree programs are welcome to apply. However, we must point out that students of our own Master’s degree program in Building Energy Systems and the Bachelor’s degree program in Energy and Process Engineering may be given a certain selective priority, depending on the topic. This is also reflected in the expected qualifications.

What can I do if I cannot find a thesis in the institute’s portal or if I want to write an external thesis? If you cannot find a thesis in the portal, please send an e-mail to: s.brandt(at)tu-berlin.de. We will then check internally why this is the case.

If you want to write an external thesis, what do you have to do? Please write a scientific essay and submit the topic to: s.brandt(at)tu-berlin.de
